A hard line.
No exceptions.
find my kindred is a platform for adults. Anything that crosses the line towards minors has no place here. Not in profiles, not in messages, not hidden, not in the open. This page lays out how we enforce that, how you can help, and what happens when something is reported.
Zero tolerance, in plain terms
Users must be at least 18 years old. Any suspicion of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or contact attempts toward minors is acted on immediately.
The account is suspended, evidence is preserved, and we report to the appropriate authorities. No exceptions, no second chances.
How we prevent it
Every photo is reviewed by a person
Before it goes live. No automation decides on its own whether an image becomes visible. This is our strongest layer.
Verification by video
The required gestures are randomized, so pre-recorded material does not work. If we suspect someone is underage, the account is suspended without further questions.
No silent matches
Reaching out requires a personal message. If you contact someone, you show yourself. Anonymous grooming attempts don't get through.
Images only with consent
Images in chat only flow after both sides agree. Nobody receives an unsolicited photo. Forwarding links in profiles are filtered.
Reporting is one tap away
In every profile, in every message. No detours, no runaround.
Screenshot protection
In sensitive areas of the app (chats, profiles, likes). Android and iOS block screen capture at the operating-system level.
When a report comes in
Every report with suspected child abuse or grooming is prioritized. These are the steps:
- 1
Immediate account suspension. No further logins, no further messages.
- 2
Evidence preservation: messages, photos, metadata, IPs and device information, retained beyond standard deletion periods where legally required.
- 3
Reporting to authorities: BKA / ZIT (Germany's central office for combating internet crime), NCMEC CyberTipline in the US, INHOPE hotlines elsewhere.
- 4
Platform-wide block: IP, device, and payment methods are blocked so the offender cannot return with a new account.
- 5
Cooperation with law enforcement on lawful requests, without detours.
How to report
Inside the app
Three-dot menu on any profile or message. Choose Report and select "illegal content" as the reason. The report lands in the moderation queue and is handled with priority.
By email
For reports from outside the app or requests from authorities:
alternate_email safety@findmykindred.comIf someone is in immediate danger
If you believe a child is in danger right now, call the police (110 in Germany) or emergency services (112). We can act quickly, the police can act faster.
Help and resources
What we're honest about
find my kindred is a small platform. We don't run an automated hash database like PhotoDNA because every photo here is reviewed by a human before it becomes visible. That manual review is our strongest layer.
If we ever grow past the point where manual review covers every file, we will add automated scanning. And we will say so here, publicly, before we do.
A small moderation team reviews every photo, every verification, and every report. Training on indicators of minority, grooming and other CSAE patterns is part of onboarding. We take personal responsibility, no outsourcing chains, no call centers.
Legal foundations
We act on the basis of the following statutes: § 184b German Criminal Code (distribution, acquisition and possession of child pornographic content), § 176 German Criminal Code (sexual abuse of children), Digital Services Act (DSA) Article 18 (reporting obligations for serious offences), Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR as a basis for extended data retention in suspected cases.
Child safety contact
